The project Rediscovery: Journalist Viewpoints towards the Cultural and Historical Heritage and Natural Landmarks of the South Cross-Border Region of Bulgaria and Serbia is realising under priority axis number two of the programme “Enhancing capacity for joint planning, problem solving and development” and especially with people to people actions.

The main objective:

To increase the publication of the local media about the cultural and historical heritage and the natural landmarks in the south cross-border region of Bulgaria and Serbia. Through the publication in the local media the unknown cultural and historical places will become popular for the people from Bulgaria and Serbia. The journalists will be involved in this project and local journalist network will be created. In such a way the project will become sustainable.

Project activities:

Elaboration of Cultural Routes

Elaboration of the routes rediscovering cultural-historical-natural sights in south cross-border region.

Journalistic workshops in Bulgaria

Organizing of two journalistic training workshops in Bulgaria (15 Serbian journalists will participate). The journalists will collect information and materials to prepare their articles, reports, and publications. Every trip ends to a workshop where the guest journalists will participate together with local journalist involved in the project. The journalist will travel to make aquatinted with natural landmarks, cultural and historical heritage in the south Bulgarian-Serbian cross-border area. Trainers from the Regional Historical Museum in Kyustendil will deliver lectures to the Serbian journalists.

Publications by local journalists

Every registered journalist can prepare articles, texts, reports, pictures and videos from his/her business trips and publish them in the local mass media. All publication texts and pictures will be available at the web-site of the project in Bulgarian, Serbian language and English version.

The web-site of the project will be refreshed permanently by the new-created network of the local journalists.
